This stress management program combines Naturopathic Medical Care, Mindfulness, and Guided Meditation to achieve the following goals:

  • Learn to manage stress effectively through guided meditation practice

Breathing Meditation1. BREATHING MEDITATION (31:17 minutes)

This meditation guides you on using your breath to calm and center the mind and eliminate all thoughts that could detract from the meditation process. This could help you attain a highly focused mind state. You should find that your reaction time improves, your concentration is more focused, your comprehension is broadened, your creativity enhanced and your judgment is more measured. This could help you perform better not just at work but also in your social life.


Forgiveness Meditation2. FORGIVENESS MEDITATION (54:22 minutes)

This meditation helps you eliminate negative emotions like pent up anger, long standing hatred, tendency to harbor grudges, feelings of envy, things you have not forgiven yourself for, etc. It should help eliminate these from your consciousness and subconscious. This meditation helps you isolate labels that you use to define yourself; like what you do for a living, your designations and titles, the material content of your life, and the way people perceive you. It will help you understand why these labels, though part of your life, are not part of who you really are. You should get to know the real you, your true essence deep down inside.

This meditation helps make you aware that life is a journey and that you are just passing through. It helps make you less possessive and more generous. It should help you live in the moment, let go of the past and stop worrying about the future. It could help curb your tendency to buy on impulse or try to use shopping and binge eating & drinking to console yourself when you are feeling down.

This meditation helps you draw energy from the life source and helps you direct this energy to every part of your body. The power of meditation: CD series offers window into peace, tranquility

“Realize that the same life source that takes care of all of the same creatures that it created, is also our own life source. And so, just as it takes care of all of the other creatures it created, it will also take care of us if we only trust in it, if we only have faith in it, if we only let it.”

Malcolm Gomes’ voice is otherworldly as it seeps through the speakers. He speaks scarcely above a whisper as New Age music plays softly in the background. The clip from his meditation CD is brief—a fraction of the 46-minute complete session which focuses on healing—but within that time, Gomes has opened a floodgate of calm that washes over his listener. Gomes considers it his calling to bring the peace that he enjoys in his life to others. But he was not always so focused on tranquility.

Born in Mumbai, India, Gomes was on the fast-track to a powerful career as a marketing executive when he left his homeland for Dubai in 1981, and then Canada 15 years later. It was a high-flying existence, but even in his 20s, Gomes’ stress soared as high as his executive paycheck.

“I had the ability to do the job, but not the maturity to handle that level of stress,” he says. “I was told I was going down the road of ‘karōshi’—the word for young Japanese executives who die of stress in their late 30s or early 40s.” A decade ago, the stress caught up with Gomes. In 2000, he was diagnosed with blepharospasm, an uncontrollable eye spasm that would eventually lead to blindness.

“That was like a splash of cold water in my face,” says Gomes. He had two young children and was not prepared to accept the doctor’s prognosis. Instead, he turned to a life-long friend in Mumbai, Rohinton Maloo, who recommended Gomes try meditation to lower his stress level. Gomes delved into the ancient practice deeply and, within two years, he had reversed the effect of the so called “incurable” disease.

“In 2002, it struck me that this was incredibly powerful,” Gomes says. “If this can work for what doctors say is an incurable condition, think of what it can do for other people.” Gomes and Maloo pored over Hindu holy books to get what he calls the “true essence” of meditation. Gomes also relied on Maloo’s family, which has practiced meditation for generations.

Convinced that bringing their knowledge to the mass market would be a boon for overstressed North Americans, Gomes and Maloo began working on a series of CDs for people to use in the privacy of their own homes.

Maloo didn’t live to see the dream come to fruition—he was killed in the 2008 terrorist attack in Mumbai—but Gomes moved forward and today his CDs are available at Costco in Canada, and also through his Website,

In addition to his consulting work, Gomes continues to help people in his Toronto, Ontario-area community with meditation sessions several nights a week. Proceeds from the sale of CDs are being used to build a facility in India named in honor of Maloo, which will offer free meditation services to anyone who needs it.

“This ancient art form saved me from going blind. The least I can do is try to help people around the world,” Gomes says.
